I am a native of West LA and have been in the clothing industry since the mid 70's. Owned a men's store in the Glen Center called Maxima with my father and brother-in-law. Opened Maxima in Brentwood in the 80's in the Chin-Chin mall and opened 3rd Maxima in the Brentwood Gardens in the late 80's.   Became a stockbroker from 1990 to 1996 in Irvine CA.  When I ran into this situation, fate took over.

What is Rufcut?

People ask me everyday “what do you do here?

I say. “We are a design studio, a cut & sew shop where your ideas become reality.

Back in 1997, Robert Rifkin traded in his tailored trousers for a pair of good old American 501's.....

And then the denim worshipping began.

Rufcut specializes in jean repair and boasts an impressive collection of vintage and used Levi's (circa 1950's to the 1970's). This little jean shack, inconspicuously located on Pico Boulevard, transports you back to the golden days of polished vinyl and quality denim.

Ah, the good old days...........
